Mr. and Mrs. Mark Cutler of Platte City announce the birth of their son, Matthew Douglas, on Aug. 6, 1977 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City. Mrs. Edith May Palmer of Platte City is the maternal grandmother and Mr. and Mrs. Don Cutler of Blue Springs are the paternal grandparents.


Mr. and Mrs. Carl Donnelli of Platte City announce the birth of their daugther, Emily Anne, on Aug. 9, 1977 at the Spelman Memorial Hospital at Smithville. Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Hiatt of Weston are the maternal grandparents. Mrs. A.J. Donnelli of Newington, Conn. is the paternal grandmother.

Mary Hymer, Linotype operator for The Landmark for more than 44 years, recently resigned because of ill health. In honor of her retirement and many years of faithful service you are invited to an open house on Friday afternoon, Aug. 26 from 2-4 p.m. at The Landmark office, hosted by Mrs. Lucile L. Jones.


Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lew Heath who were married Friday night at the home of the bride. Vicky is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Hensley and Lew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Heath. They will live just south of Edgerton.


William R. Hull, Jr., 71, of Weston, died Monday at Swope Ridge Nursing Home in Kansas City. Former Congressman Hull served nine consecutive terms as representative in Congress.
