Just in time for football season.
A new restaurant with an atmosphere of a sports bar in a mountain lodge theme is just days away from opening in Platte County.
Twin Peaks is known for a couple of things, one of those being beer served at an ice cold temperature of 29 degrees.
The Texas-based restaurant chain will be opening in the Shops at Boardwalk retail area, 8660 N. Boardwalk Avenue, which is just off Barry Road, Kansas City in Platte County. Twin Peaks is going in at the former Houlihan’s space. Houlihan’s had opened in the Shops at Boardwalk in 2005 but closed its doors in August of 2018.
It’s not far from the Walmart and Lowe’s on Boardwalk Ave.
According to its Facebook page, Twin Peaks at Boardwalk will be opening on Monday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. A ribbon cutting is scheduled at that time.
The Twin Peaks menu includes made-from-scratch items such as chicken wings, soups and salads, sandwiches, tacos, smoked chicken, chargrilled salmon, chicken fried steak or chicken, steak and pot roast.
“This week we will be training our team. We are one week away from our opening! We are beyond excited for our grand opening! We are still looking for a few friendly faces! Text Twinpeaks2 to 25000!” says the posting on the Twin Peaks at Boardwalk Facebook page.
The Twin Peaks website at twinpeaksrestaurant.com describes the atmosphere as: “Twin Peaks is so much more than your typical sports bar. Our lodge welcomes every guest with World Series walk offs and barrel-aged whiskey. The second you step inside, you’re surrounded by a lodge full of friendly and attentive Twin Peaks Girls serving up scratch food and our signature 29 degree beers.”
The website goes on to say that Twin Peaks is known for “friendly and attractive Twin Peaks Girls surrounded by scenic views and the latest in high-definition Tvs.”
In addition to the new spot at Shops at Boardwalk, other area locations for Twin Peaks restaurants include Independence and Olathe. The restaurant has more than 80 locations in 25 states across America.
Twin Peaks is headquartered in Addison, Tex. but the restaurant was founded in Lewisville, Tex., a suburb of Dallas, in 2008.
