45 Years Ago–July 15, 1977

John M. Reineke, 58, a farmer and businessman from Parkville, Mo., has filed for presiding judge of the Platte County Court in the Democratic primary in August 1978.


The 1977 Cystic Fibrosis Bike-A-Thon prizes were awarded at the June meeting of the Platte City Jaycees. This year’s fund-raising event has produced in excess of $1,800 which will be used by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for treatment and research.


Leland M. Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Porter, Platte City, is one of over 2400 cadets now undergoing training during the ETAOINN training at Fort Riley, Kan., during the 1977 ROTC advanced camp.

Saturday, June 11, Janice L. Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Edwards, became the bride of Clayton D. With, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph With, at Tower View Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo.


Mr. and Mrs. Ron Resler announce the birth of their son on Wednesday, June 29, 1977, at the Methodist Medical Center in St. Joseph. He has been named Troy Christopher.
