30 Years Ago–June 5, 1992

Christi Peterson of the Platte County Lady Pirates picked up a medal for her fifth place finish in the 400 meter dash in the state track meet held last week at Jefferson City. Peterson ran a time of 59.9 seconds in her preliminary heat, then clocked in at 60.46 in the finals. Also earning a medal at the state event were members of the Pirates’ half mile relay team. Tia Newman, Sara Irvine, Amy Rhoads and Melissa Myers set a school record with their time of 1:47.4 in the finals of their event. They finished sixth in the final, good enough for a medal.


Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Buckler of Dearborn have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tina Ann, to Roger Dean Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wright of Rushville. The future bride is a fourth grade teacher in the Park Hill School District. Roger is employed by Cameragraphics as a lithographer.


Mr. and Mrs. James Paxton of Savannah, Mo. have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lea Michelle Paxton, to Adam Patrick Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Cox of Platte City and the late Walker and Geneva Reineke. The future bride is a graduate of Savannah High School and is attending Missouri Western State College. The groom is a graduate of North Platte and is employed with Swift and Eckrich Corporation.
