New Parkville alderman-nominee Gia McFarlane is a self-described “political outsider” and that is one of the major reasons Mayor Kathy Dusenbery selected her. “I’m not looking for a ‘yes’ person. That’s why I selected Gia. She’s an independent voice,” said Dusenbery. If approved by a majority of the aldermen, McFarlane will replace ward two alderman Dave Rittman, who resigned his seat in an email on May 12. Rittman began working full time this year for an automobile dealership in the US Virgin Islands. Rittman served as a Parkville alderman for 10 years. Gia McFarlane, 38 and her husband, Rob, 40, reside in the 5000 block of N. Woodland Pt. in Parkville.
