Of the three separate wards in the Platte City Board of Aldermen election, every incumbent was defeated by their challenger at Tuesday’s election. And the races weren’t close. Newcomers Ron Stone, Andy Stanton and Todd Sloan are pledging to bring a different perspective to the job than the views that have been followed by the three men they defeated: Lee Roy Van Lew, George McClintock and Jim Palmer.

Two well known residents who were both visible at the polling stations as voters walked inside were named winners in the Platte County R-3 School Board race. Local attorney Bob Shaw and Mary Temperelli won the open spots. Temperelli took 976 votes, Shaw had 788. Also running was Dave Edwards, who finished with 503 votes. This will be Shaw’s fourth term and Temperelli’s second term on the board.
