Terry Blanton, chief of police for the City of Weston, was listed in serious condition Tuesday after a three-vehicle crash in Buchanan County. The accident occurred on Hwy. 116. Blanton was in a Chevy pickup shortly before 4 p.m. when it apparently crested a hill near the Route MM intersection and crossed into westbound traffic on Hwy. 116. Reports indicate the pickup struck the rear tire of a farm tractor, continued into the driver’s door of a Dodge pickup and then overturned three or four times. Blanton was extricated and taken by helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
