Mr. and Mrs. Ron Kamphefner of Platte City announce the birth of their daughter Alissia Kae, on March 6, 1977 at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville. The maternal grandmother is Mrs. Cleta Decker of Lee’s Summit and the paternal grandfather is Rolly Kamphefner of Farley.


Wedding vows were exchanged on March 23, 1977 between Miss Bonnie Hoskins, Platte City, and Sgt. James Auman of the USDB at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. The parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Van Hoozer of Platte City. James Auman is the son of the late Mrs. Anna Auman.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Oylear of Platte City announce the marriage of their daughter, Brenda Sue, to James Handke, son of Lewis Handke of Atchison. A June 4 wedding is being planned.


Miss Shelly Matthews of Gower, Miss St. Joseph in 1975, will sing two of her own compositions Saturday night at the Miss St. Joseph pageant. She has also been employed to sing with a local orchestra.


The Platte County Council on Aging and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) have set April 1 as the opening date for a senior center for area residents aged 60 years and older.
