30 Years Ago–February 28, 1992

There is a good possibility the North Platte R-1 School District will get tennis courts. At last week’s R-1 board meeting it was reported that the City of Dearborn is willing to provide the materials and labor and build the tennis courts if the school district will maintain them.


Michael Dragen, an eighth grader at Lakeview Middle School, placed first in the Park Hill School District spelling bee on Monday, Feb. 10. The winning word for Michael was nocturnal. He is the son of Lawrence and Rose Dragen of Kansas City, North.


Mr. and Mrs. James William Harre, Sr., of Camden, South Carolina, formerly of Farley, Mo., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Anne, to Barksdale Heyward Drew, Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Barksdale Heyward Drew, Sr.


Mr. and Mrs. Billy Roberts announce the birth of their daughter Feb. 8, 1992. She has been named Rose Retta. The grandparents are J.C. and Colleen Roberts and the great-grandmother is Retta Roberts.


There are two candidates for Platte City judge of the municipal division in the April 7 city election. They are incumbent Jack H. Hansel and challenger Richard “Dick” Stephens.
