She was first elected in 2010

“It’s been an honor to serve the taxpayers of Platte County and I’m committed to making the Platte County Collector’s Office one of the best in the state,” said Palmer.

Since being elected in 2010, Palmer says she has increased accessibility and convenience by offering the taxpayers the option of paying their real estate taxes in quarterly installments, paying taxes by phone, by mail, 24 hour drop box, online and as always, in person.

In an effort to continually upgrade and modernize the office, Palmer has added a live chat feature to the collector’s website to better serve the taxpayers.

Sheila holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Missouri State University. She is the immediate past president of the Missouri County Collectors Association and continues to serve on their executive board. She is a member of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers.

Sheila and her husband Stan live in Platte City and have raised two children.
