State Auditor George W. Lehr has signed and registered $580,000 in general obligation bonds issued by the City of Parkville in Platte County. The proceeds from the sale of these bonds will be used to extend and improve the sanitary sewerage of the city.


A large number of friends attended the open house Nov. 28th honoring the 30th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs John Pierson hosted by their children.

“Christmas Medley 76” will be presented by the North Platte Community Choir at the Dearborn United Methodist Church Sunday night, Dec. 12. The popular choir is under the direction of Louis Buntin.


Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hendrix will be married 65 years on Dec. 10. Mrs. Hendrix is the former Vivian Babcock. Their children include Mrs. Fletcher Bray, Mrs. Mike Brown and Anthony Hendrix.


A CB radio saved the lives of two boys in this area. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Williams, while driving on a Gladstone road, spotted a blaze beneath a car some distance ahead. Claude called for help on his CB, giving the location. Another CBer heard the call and immediately caught the car and crowded it off the road. The boys vacated the car just minutes before it was enveloped in flames and destroyed.
