Platte City’s annual Thanksgiving Union Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27. The Methodist Church will host the service and the Rev. Charles Allen of the Sonlight Assembly of God Church will share the message. Special music will be by the Methodist church choir.


Platte City Mayor Steve Wegner Friday signed a proclamation declaring the week of Nov. 17-23 as American Education Week in Platte City. Two teachers who are members of the National Education Association, assisted the mayor. They are Roshonne Peters and Carole Coots.


George and Patty Bundy of Kansas City, Mo. have announced the birth of their daughter, Jamie Ashlin, Oct. 4, 1991 at 7:25 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz. and was 19 inches long. Her maternal grandparents are Jim and Ruth Kopp of Platte City, Mo. and her paternal grandparents are Donald and Geneva Bundy of Parkville, Mo.


Irwin and Le Ila Robker are holding a celebration in honor of Minnie Robker’s 100th birthday. The event will take place Dec. 1, 1991 from 2-4 p.m. at the Platte City Caring Center.


Students at the Platte City Elementary School gave their undivided attention last week when a dance group called Barefoot Engineers entertained in the gym.
