The Platte City Friends of the Arts Visual Arts Committee and the City of Platte City are sharing the work of local artist Tiffanie Shriner at City Hall during the month of October.

The City of Platte City installed an art display system in the lobby of City Hall in order to entertain visitors and showcase area artists while open.

Tiffanie has always been into art of all kinds. From a very young age she started drawing portraits of people. She has won numerous awards for her art. She paints her images upside down to gain complete accuracy of her real-like paintings. She then ventured out into watercolor painting. She graduated from Park University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Business Marketing, and has worked as a graphic designer for Platte Valley Bank and Central Bank of the Midwest. Recently she decided to leave the banking world to enjoy all things art and to be home taking care of her family. Tiffanie does custom orders for watercolor paintings, graphic design requests, and family photography.

Please reach out to her @Trdezines Photography + Design on Facebook or Instagram to purchase her art.

Platte City Friends of the Arts member Susan Anderson stated, “Tiffanie has helped judge our high school art shows over the years, and the community with children has met her over the years when she did face-painting for the school district, the bank’s, and community events.”

The Platte City Friends of the Arts began in 1999 with a small group of locals who care about promoting and preserving art of all kinds in Platte County. The first art show was produced at All Pro Ford and has been a focus of the not-for-profit group ever since. PCFA produces and supports visual art shows for both school age and adults and has a variety of events throughout the year.

The City Hall art display rotates each month featuring a different area artist or groups of artists, including public, private, and home-schooled students. October showcases Tiffanie Shriner. November is reserved for Donna Gordon’s Photography; and December will be Spectrum Station Early Learning Center art students.

City Hall lobby is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
