30 Years Ago-October 18, 1991

America Brown Lowmiller of Garden Villas North will observe her 90th birthday at a reception on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gardens, 8550 N. Cosada Drive, Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Lowmiller, born Oct. 24, 1901, is a member of the White Alloe Chapter of DAR, Park Hill Christian Church, Spelman Hospital Auxiliary in Smithville and the Platte County Historical Society. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.


Kerry and Kathleen Scanlon of Platte City have announced the arrival of Molley Ann Scanlon. Molley was born Saturday, Oct. 5, 1991 at 9:03 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, Kan. She weighed seven pounds, four ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Molley was welcomed home by her big sister, Ashley Kate.


Ashton Ann was born to Richard and Kellie Knorr of Savannah, Mo. on Oct. 6 at 10:40 p.m., weighing in at six pounds, 15 ounces. Grandparents are Mary Knorr of Savannah, Robert and Emma Jean Searles of Camden Point and Ray Bisig of Platte City. Great-grandparents are Nora Sechel and Mary Bisig.


Mark Cannon has returned home after six weeks of basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas and eight weeks of fire training at Chanute AFB, Illinois. He is with the 139th TAG Air National Guard in St. Joseph as an airport fire specialist.
