Platte City’s water tower, that was erected in 1929 when city water was installed, was pulled down last Wednesday. The tower stood 100 feet high and weighed approximately 30 tons. It came down in one piece. Judge Alfred Kyle gets the scrap for taking it down and cutting it up and removing the same scrap. Don Soper owns the land where it was located on what has been known as “water tower hill” for the past 47 years.
