A 4-3 split decision
Mask requirements will remain in place for all persons inside all Platte County R-3 School District facilities for at least the next 30 days.
Members of the Platte County R-3 School Board made that decision on a 4-3 vote at a special meeting last Tuesday night, Sept. 14.
Voting in favor of extending the mask requirement for 30 days were board members Sharon Sherwood, Gary Brown, Alisha Elliott and Karen Bryant. Opposed were Buffy Smith, Doug Doll, and Bobby Vann.
The 30-day extension took effect on Sept. 15.
R-3 officials said the school board will be reviewing the masking policy every 30 days, per state law.
