Two people–including a Platte City woman–were injured in a crash on Interstate 29 Monday morning in Platte County. The crash occurred on southbound I-29 at 72nd Street at 10:10 a.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Elizabeth A. Bruner, 72, of Platte City suffered injuries when her 2019 Infinity QX50 rear-ended a 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by Heidi M. Hordan, 41, of St. Joseph.

The highway patrol report says after the impact, Bruner’s vehicle then ran off the right side of the roadway before returning to the roadway and striking the passenger side of a 2020 International Harvester driven by Ryan M. Hodges, 38, of Kearney.

Bruner and Hordan were both taken by Kansas City Fire to North Kansas City Hospital. The highway patrol report describes injuries to both as “serious.”

Hodges was not listed in the crash report as having any injuries.
