Celebration set for Central Park at Zona Rosa

A newly-renovated outdoor area at Zona Rosa will be celebrated with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, complete with food trucks and other offerings that will include live music.

Now called Central Park at Zona Rosa, the re-designed area is the open space north of the Bravo restaurant, between N. Dixson and N. Stoddard. Often that area was previously referred to as the town square area or town center.

Zona Rosa is the urban town center located at the northwest corner of Interstate 29 and Barry Road, Kansas City in Platte County.

“We’ve seen the need for a more expansive, family-oriented outdoor recreation space at Zona Rosa, especially throughout the pandemic. Central Park will serve as an extension of what Zona Rosa offers to the community. It’s exciting to have this next phase nearly complete and know this addition will move us closer to making the center the hub of the Northland,” said Scott Zigler, Zona Rosa’s general manager.

“These family-oriented activities, along with our outdoor dining and entertainment options, will enhance our guest’s experience–all of which aligns with our re-development strategy,” Zigler added.

The re-developed green space at Zona includes new fountains, a children’s play area, shaded swings, covered seating and new main stage.
