Renaissance Festival

Your chance to get FREE tickets

The end of summer means it’s time for the Renaissance Festival.

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival will be open weekends from Sept. 4 to Oct. 17, plus Labor Day (Sept. 6) and Monday, Oct. 11. Tickets and information are available at www.kcrenfest.com.

The Landmark once again has a subscription special in conjunction with the Renaissance Festival. From now through Oct. 16, you can get four free tickets (a $96 value) to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival with the purchase of a $29.15 subscription to The Landmark. This year, the offer is good on new subscriptions and renewals, while supplies last (for more information, see the ad on the back page).

To take advantage of the special, you’ll need to call 816.858.0363 and pay by card or pay in person at the newspaper office, located at 252 Main Street in downtown Platte City. Tickets need to be picked up at the office.

Chris Farrell, a season one winner of History Channel’s Forged in Fire, will join the celebration at the 2021 Kansas City Renaissance Festival, which is held at 633 N 130th St, Bonner Springs, Kan. 66012

Farrell is the owner of Fearghal Blades, a custom bladesmithing business based in Austin, Texas. He competed in the 2015 premiere season of Forged in Fire, which challenges bladesmiths to create functional weapons under time and material constraints. He defeated three competitors with his production of a traditional Indian throwing weapon called a Chakram.

Farrell started Fearghal Blades in 2011. He produces custom, handmade items and offers demonstrations of his craft around the country. The Kansas City Renaissance Festival is pleased to have him showcase his talents for our 2021 season.
