Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hiegert of Kansas City announce the wedding date of their daughter, Marlene, to Richard W. Palmer, son of Mrs. Maxine Palmer and James R. Palmer, all of Platte City on Aug. 14, 1976 at 8 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1400 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, North, Missouri.


On June 19, 1976, Cathy D. Latham and James L. Collings were united in marriage at the Platte City Christian Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kossen announce the birth of their son on July 17, 1976 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City. He has been named Billy Ray Kossen, Jr. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kossen, Platte City, the maternal grandmother is Mrs. Judy Mead, Springfield, Mo., and the great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Towns, of Platte City.


There is a $1.9 million bond proposal to renovate the courthouse, build a new jail and add more courtrooms and office space for Platte County. This is the 200th anniversary of the birth of our nation–when will there be a better time to become involved in your government?


Front page notice: Does anyone have a picture of the 1931 Chevrolet Platte City Fire Truck? The truck has been purchased by a person wanting to restore it with the accessories as it was when used in Platte City. Anyone having a picture they would loan please call Ross Naylor or The Landmark.
