I never knew Shoal Creek Living History Museum existed. Thanks for having it on your front page last week.
Nice collection of history moved in from a lot of Missouri places, Howard County, Platte, Clay.
The Eldorado School House, closed to students after 1952, was located at Tracy on the Renz farm. The Western Farm (Thornton Mansion) had involvement from Alexander Doniphan of Liberty and his son John who is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery and a good friend and acquaintance of Ben Holladay. So there was even a Weston connection there.
The story book descriptions available at each structure were very informational.
There were 13 buildings on display, including the two above. The gun fight reenactments were plentiful. Preserving history is never a bad idea.
Never would have known about its existence without the front page of The Landmark.
Also enjoyed the four buffalo, with the promise of more coming. It is a high fence. Hopefully stampedes are out–too close to Hwy. 152 and I-435. They seemed to be very docile.
