Parade, skydiving show, fireworks ready at Parkville

A pancake breakfast and a parade will get the Parkville Fourth of July celebration rolling on Sunday, July 4.

The schedule of events for the Parkville 4th of July celebration is as follows (activities taking place in downtown Parkville).

PARADE: 10 a.m. start time at 63rd Street & Hwy 9, ending on Main Street in downtown Parkville. Independence Day trivia and giveaways will start at 10 am (at 1st & Main Street).

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: 8 – 11 am at the American Legion Post, 11 Main Street

Patriotic Music with the NAVY BAND GREAT LAKES BRASS QUINTET, 7:30 p.m.

FALCON SKYDIVING EXHIBITION, 8:30 p.m. (approx.)

FIREWORKS SHOW, 9:30 p.m.

MORE INFO AND ‘THINGS TO DO’:

. Restaurants will be open ALL DAY on July 4th, Dine-In or Carry-Out.

. Many stores will be open before and after the parade. Several will be open all day.

. Parkville Mini Golf will be open all day.

. Vendors near the Farmer’s Market open at 6 p.m.: Shaved Ice, Kettle Corn, Cotton Candy, Fruit Smashers, Drinks, BBQ, Face Painting and Airbrush Tattoos.

. Enjoy English Landing Park – miles of walking and biking trails, picnics, pickleball, playgrounds, frisbee golf, sand volleyball, basketball

. Platte Landing Park and the Dog Park will be closed on July 4th due to fireworks show setup.

. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a front row seat for the Fireworks Show. The display will launch near the Missouri River, south of the baseball field off Main Street.

. The City Parking Lot (south of the railroad tracks)

. Parking lot at entrance of English Landing Park

. Parking on Main Street and East Street

. Parking lot at 4th Street and Hwy 9

. Parking lot at 6th Street and Hwy 9

SHUTTLE SERVICE

. 6-11 p.m., Pick-up & Drop-off Location: South Platte YMCA
