The patient-focused team at Riverside Wellness is bringing its newest dispensary to Missouri medical marijuana patients.
Riverside Wellness will open its doors to medical cannabis patients for in-store sales every Monday, 3-9 p.m. and Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Online ordering, drive- through pickup and delivery options will soon follow.
The retail outlet is located at 4403 NW Gateway Ave., in Riverside.
With backgrounds in cultivation, hospitality and international affairs, the Riverside team will focus on sourcing a variety of quality products and maintaining safe and secure environments behind the scenes while developing trust, care, and solidarity with their patients.
“We think a lot about the patients,” says general manager Mary Ann Denzer. “What we can provide our community now, and what we can push the industry to provide them as we grow and develop. We aren’t just a retailer, we are a connection to people’s medicine, to cultivators, manufacturers, regulators, and the industry beyond.
“We have the ability to advocate for our patients and we take that very seriously. We talk a lot about honesty – both on our team and with our patients.”
Riverside Wellness is located in the former Hawg Jaw BBQ building, which sat empty for years. The dispensary team has worked with the City of Riverside, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and countless contractors to transition the abandoned, broken building into a modern alternative pharmacy.
Greasy brick transformed into soothing navy walls. An old barbecue menu evolved into clean and approachable prints explaining cannabis flavor profiles and methods of consumption. Broken concrete floors and gaping doorways shifted to a rich variety of wood tones and textures.
When Missouri regulators decided in 2020 to allow dispensaries to include drive-thru windows, it was a no-brainer for the Riverside team to rework their plans. Providing additional access, especially to patients who may have mobility restrictions was an obvious yes.
