Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Porter of Farley announce the birth of their son, Benjamin Charles, on Sunday, March 21, 1976 at the Spelman Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dover of Weston are the maternal grandparents and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Porter of Farley are the paternal grandparents and Raymond F. Porter of Farley is the paternal great-grandfather.


Miss Deborah Susan Foster of Platte City, daughter of Mrs. Susan L. Bremer, Platte City and Richard Foster, Coffeyville, Kansas was united in marriage to Melvin D. Grame, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Grame, all of Platte City on Feb. 28, 1976.


On Sunday, April 4, 1976, Pastor Terry E. Ditmer will be installed as the new pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Farley.


Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Morgan announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Louise, to Alan D. Marshall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Marshall of Savannah, Mo.


“Living Sound,” an exciting young missionary team, will present a concert at April 4, 1976 at Second Creek Christian Church.


Charlie Broomfield says his campaign will emphasize restoring the confidence of the people in their elected officials. Broomfield, a former high school teacher and four-term state representative, is seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives from the Sixth District. He is currently the Western District Judge of Clay County.
