The longtime executive director of the Northland Regional Ambulance District (NRAD) has been placed on administrative leave by the district’s board of directors. The directors unanimously voted in favor of a motion to place Bill Bishop on paid leave until further notice. The action was taken “pending a performance review.” The motion was made by Luke Hilmes and seconded by Alan Matthys, with Fred McDaniel, Charlene Bruce and Steve Hoeger also voting in favor. Absent frm the meeting was Lew Basye. Bishop has served as the ambulance district’s executive director for roughly 10 years, working from the district’s office in Platte City. The district serves areas of northern Platte County and Smithville. District officials declined to offer more details behind the action that was taken in executive session, citing the fact it is a personnel matter.
The new reallocation of roads sales tax revenue by the Platte County Commission was called into question by certain members of the Mayor’s Council at a meeting Tuesday morning in Platte City. A new distribution scenario has become a sore spot for certain municipal officials across the county. City officials have hinted at taking legal action against the county.
MoDOT has confirmed the installation of a span wire traffic signal at the intersection of Hwy. 92 and Marshall Road by April 1.
