A whopping six candidates have filed for two open positions on the Park Hill School Board.

That’s the local headline from school board elections this spring.

Filing deadline for school board candidates was 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The election is set for April 6.

PARK HILL CANDIDATES

Park Hill candidates will include the two incumbents, who are Kyla Yamada and Kimberlee Ried, as well as challengers Tammy Thompson, Alberto Rivera, Brandy Woodley, and Jay Blumenthal. That list is in the order that the candidates filed, school officials said.

PLATTE COUNTY R-3

Three candidates filed for the two open spots at R-3. Filing, in order, were the two incumbents Doug Doll and Amy MacCuish, as well as newcomer Karen Bryant.

NORTH PLATTE R-1

It appears there will be no election drama at North Platte. Only the two incumbents filed: Karen Bartlett and Kerry Brooke Hyde.

WEST PLATTE R-2

And there will be no election suspense at West Platte, where there are only two candidates for two open spots. Filing were incumbent Tracie Kalic and newcomer Samantha Kinslow. Current seat holder Kyle Stephenson did not file for re-election.
