Filing for potential candidates is open for school board positions throughout the four school districts in Platte County.
Candidates have until Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. to submit the paperwork for filing. Contact your respective school district’s central office for more information.
Here’s how it looks at each of the districts.
Platte County R-3
Two seats up for grabs in 2021. Those positions, which are three-year terms, are currently held by Doug Doll and Amy MacCuish. Filing opened this week, Dec. 22, and will close Jan. 19. The two incumbents re-filed on Dec. 22, according to the board secretary.
Park Hill
Positions currently held by school board members Kimberlee Ried and Kyla Yamada are open. Filing opens 8 a.m. on Tuesday Dec. 22 and of course closes at 5 p.m. on Jan. 19.
North Platte
North Platte School District based in Dearborn has two spots up for election in 2021 on its school board. Those seats are currently filled by Kerry Brooke Hyde and Karen Bartlett. Filing began on Dec. 15 and closes at 5 p.m. on Jan. 19.
West Platte
Filing opened Dec. 15 at West Platte and will close at 5 p.m. on Jan. 19. Positions up for grabs on the West Platte Board of Education are currently held by Tracie Kalic and Kyle Stephenson. Kalic and Samantha Kinslow have filed thus far.
The spring election is set for Tuesday, April 6.
