Video preview ready for movie made in Weston
Remember the Christmas movie made in Weston back in the summer?
Even though the movie is not set for airing this holiday season and its final title has been somewhat of a mystery, the trailer (video preview) of the movie is now available for viewing. You can view the trailer here: www.aci-americancinema.com/screener/christmas-on-display
Some area residents filled roles as “extras” in the filming, so see if you spot any familiar faces in the preview.
In production, movie makers announced the film had a working title of Christmas on Display. It appears in post production the movie has taken on perhaps two later names. A listing on the web site of the movie’s distributors lists the title as Christmas Comes Home. But a listing on the imdb.com web site lists the title as My Christmas Wish, and a member of the cast told The Landmark this is the ‘final, final title’ of the movie.
IMDb is an online database of information related to films, television programs, home videos, video games, and streaming content online – including cast, production crew and personal biographies, plot summaries, trivia, ratings, and fan and critical reviews.
The IMDb site says “it looks like we don’t have any release dates for this title yet.”
But Pat McGonigle of Fox 4 television recently told The Landmark he spoke with the producers of the film and they told him the movie made in Weston is scheduled for the 2021 Christmas season on Lifetime television network.
“I interviewed the couple (director Sandra Martin and her husband Isaac Alongi, who does the cinematography) recently,” McGonigle told The Landmark. “They are both local (Kansas City area) and make a pretty good living cranking out Christmas movies for Hallmark and Lifetime.”
Martin and Alongi have made five movies in the Kansas City metro over the last few years, McGonigle reported.
There have been some postings on Facebook and other social media outlets indicating the movie made in Weston will be airing this Christmas night–next week–at 7 p.m. on Lifetime. This is incorrect.
Folks are likely confusing the Weston movie with another one made by Martin and Alongi of Mapelle Films. That movie, called My Sweet Holiday, will air on Lifetime on Christmas night next week.
The My Sweet Holiday flick was filmed in the Kansas City metro and is centered around Annadore’s Fine Chocolates in Westwood Hills in Johnson County.
THE WESTON MOVIE
Christmas on Display, later known as Christmas Comes Home and now by its apparent final title of My Christmas Wish, is listed in the drama/romance genre on imdb.com.
Distributors are listed as American Cinema Inspires (ACI).
On the imdb.com web site, the plot is described as:
“With help from her childhood crush and his six-year-old son, Abbey rediscovers her Christmas spirit as she re-creates her grandmother’s handmade ornaments for her hometown’s annual Christmas fair.”
In the listing on the web site aci-americancinema.com, the synopsis reads like this:
“On the verge of a promotion, a successful real estate broker, Abbey, is forced back to her hometown to repair a Victorian inherited from her grandmother. Upon returning home, she decides to sell the house and hires a single dad, Josh, to help with the repairs.
