The Bantam football team of young boys and the older boys ranging in the 11 year age have been successful in winning all of their games so far this season. Sunday at 4 p.m. the older boys will play a St. Joseph team here.


The voters in the Platte County R-3 School District defeated the $370,000 bond issue which needed the two-thirds majority. The unofficial vote totals were 438 or 58.9% approving the bond while 306 persons or 41.1% voted against the issue. The property tax increase was defeated with 358 votes or 48.6% for the increase and 378 votes or 51.4% against the tax. This proposal also needed a two-thirds majority for passage.


Myron Anderson, a senior of North Platte High School, gave a special message at the morning worship hour Sunday at the Christian Church. He wisely chose “youth” as his subject of discussion and he adroitly compared youth of today and those of Bible history. Myron is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Anderson.


PCHS has seen another successful homecoming. Pirates defeated Kearney Bulldogs 27-20.


The Platte County Bicentennial Costume Ball will be held Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Holiday Inn KCI.
