Saturday found Edgerton highly excited over the Pioneer Days parade. Beautiful weather helped everyone to enjoy everything.


A reception honoring the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel E. Corbin will be held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28 from 2-4:30 at the Christian Assembly Church in Weston. They will be most happy to have all friends and relatives in attendance.

Platte City will host an Exhibition Football Night with teams from Dearborn, Smithville, Weston, and Platte City, Saturday, Sept. 27, 8:00 at the Elementary Annex Field. This will be the first year that these teams have had an organized league.


There will be a community shower for Mr. and Mrs. Gary Schimmel of Weston, whose home was destroyed by fire, on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 2-5 in the afternoon. It will be held at the Legion Hall in Weston.


Mr. and Mrs. Jack Offutt had their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Peach of Golden, Colo. as guests during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Peach attended a convention at the Four Seasons Lodge, Lake of the Ozarks then came to Kansas City for a short visit before returning home.
