Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Whitters of Platte City announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Louise, to Kenneth C. Kaemmerie of Owensboro, Kentucky. A November wedding is planned.


Thursday, Sept. 25 the First Baptist Church of Platte City will be hosting a community wide drug program. Mr. Martin from the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office will be the guest speaker.

Congressman Jerry Litton, representative from the 6th Congressional District, will be the featured speaker at a dinner sponsored by the Platte County Democratic Central Committee. The event will be held at the Marriott Hotel at KCI Airport.


On Thursday, about 65 avid followers of the Fox Hunt will arrive to participate in the annual Buchanan-Platte County Fox Hunt Association’s 67th annual meet based at Dearborn since 1935.


On Aug. 22, 1975, Stephanie Lynn Fryrear and Danny Joe Kyle were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Platte City.
