Cigar shop, chiropractors awarded CARES grants

Tuesday, Sept. 8 was a good day for chiropractors in Platte County, as two of them received approval for CARES grants from the Platte County Commission.

The CARES Small Business Grant Program put together by the Platte County Commission uses federal dollars in their control to award grants to various businesses affected by the COVID-19 shutdown earlier this year.

A cigar company was the biggest winner in the newest round of grant approvals, which came during a session held Tuesday morning.

The following grant awards were approved by county commissioners this week:

* Ash Cigars KC, Kansas City in Platte County, $24,961.78.

*McCrackin Chiropractic LLC, Parkville, $15,144.

*Anstaett Chiropractic LLC, Parkville, $12,000.

*Rio Salon and Spa, Parkville, $15,000.

*V & V Nails, Riverside $1,002.

*Fabulous Hair Extensions and Wigs, Northmoor, $2,960.

*The Upholstery Shop, $1,002.
