Martial arts studio given $25,000 grant

Fifteen more small business grants were approved by the Platte County Commission on Monday, Aug. 31.

The grants are awarded using $12.2 million of federal CARES Act money in control of the county commissioners.

Grants approved on Monday include:

* KiCK Martial Arts on Prairie View Road, Kansas City in Platte County, $25,000.

*Hawthorne House, Inc. (wedding venue at Parkville) $25,000.

*Tasty Tai and Big Bowl Pho located on Prairie View Road, Kansas City in Platte County, $22,000.

*AAMCO transmissions, $12,000.

*The Weston Home Slice Pizza, $10,500.

*Dugan’s Coin Laundry, Kansas City in Platte County, $7,000.

*Weston Wine Company, $5,700.

*Famous Barber Shop, Platte Woods, $5,470.

*USA Nails, Kansas City in Platte County, $5,000.

*Happy Signs, Riverside, $4,281.04.

*Picture This Travel, Parkville, $3,800.

*Ann Kleier, hair stylist, $3,035.

*Alery Building Maintenance, Northmoor, $2,387.

*Fizzolino, mobile bartending service, $347.93.

*J&R’s Hot Dog Cart, Parkville, $171.44.

The county commission has not distributed any of the $12.2 million in CARES money to the Platte County Health Department, any public school districts, nor any municipalities.
