Park Hill School District has announced its intent, at the last school board meeting, to break its 10 year agreement with Coca-Cola a year early and sign a deal with Pepsi. According to Park Hill School District Public Relations Director Nicole Kirby, the decision to break the contract with Coca-Cola was because the district recognized the swing in soft drink companies that many area districts were making. She said Park Hill felt like they needed to explore their options. One of those districts was Platte County R-3 who will receive $31,000 per year over the next ten years from Pepsi per their agreement.
The economic boom of Riverside will soon be on the roadways of the city. According to Riverside City Administrator David Blackburn, thanks to revenues from Argosy Casino, the city will be able to finance nearly $11.6 million in capital improvement projects. The largest project to be funded out of the budget is $4 million in improvements to the Vivion and Gateway intersection in Riverside.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the new clinic in Platte City will be held Friday, July 8, 2005 at 2:00p.m. The groundbreaking will be on the site of the clinic at 2703 Running Horse Road. Officials from Heartland Health and from Platte City will be present at the ceremony.
