Faucett man, KC woman charged

Following an extensive police investigation, a man and woman have been charged in a violent robbery at Humphrey Access along the Platte River south of Platte City.

Authorities say Kolt Allen Wiss, 30, of Faucett, and Aubrianna Suddarth, 21, of Kansas City, pre-arranged an alleged robbery over jealousy.

According to the probable cause statement, Suddarth befriended the male victim on Facebook and requested they meet at the Platte City McDonald’s. Despite some initial hesitation, the victim agreed.

After meeting at the fast food restaurant, Suddarth encouraged the victim to join her at Humphrey Access, claiming it was a pretty place to talk. Upon their arrival, court documents say, Suddarth texted someone and before long a gray Pontiac Grand AM, pulled up carrying a group of angry men.

Suddarth attempted to flee the area as the men jumped out of the car and began yelling. The victim attempted to run through the woods but was caught and beaten by the men, according to the allegations.

Court documents say the victim sustained multiple injuries to his head, ribs and back, due to repeated kicks and punches. As the victim laid on the ground, one of his assaulters stole his wallet, containing about $200 in cash.

When police arrived on the scene, they observed “knots” and “red marks” on the victim’s head. Despite the victim’s clear and present weakened mobility, he declined medical assistance.

In a photograph line-up the following day, the victim identified Kolt Wiss as one of his attackers from a collage of photos.

According to court documents, evidence reveals Suddarth and Wiss arranged the robbery ahead of time. In fact, one Facebook message between Wiss and Suddarth clearly states their intent to “beat up” the victim, authorities say.

Apparently, Wiss was jealous because the victim has a daughter with the male attacker’s 27-year-old ex-girlfriend.

Additionally, “A review of Kolt Wiss’s Facebook data revealed (he made) several threats to others in text threads telling them he knows where they live, and vulgarly threatens to beat them up,” wrote a member of law enforcement on the probable cause statement.

“Kolt Wiss has an extensive history with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, even as a juvenile,” wrote law enforcement. “As an adult, Wiss has been involved in several incidents, either as a suspect or alleged victim.”

Those cases include a burglary, theft and property damage to an apartment.

The Platte County Prosecutor’s Office charged Wiss and Suddarth with robbery in the second degree. Wiss was also charged with assault in the third degree. Their bonds have been set at $10,000.

Wiss remains in custody in the Platte County Jail, with his next court appearance scheduled this week.

Suddarth posted bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 14.
