The Exchange Bank and Trust of Atchison, Kan. has filed an application with the state for permission to establish a branch bank in Platte City. Plans are for Exchange Bank to be located in the former National Bank of Kansas City building, located at 2443 Prairie View Road in Platte City.
It will be named Exchange Bank and Trust Platte City.
According to a news release, Exchange Bank and Trust was founded in 1856. The bank provides an enhancement of products and services to include online banking for all its customers.
The bank has nine locations in Atchison, Leavenworth, Lansing, Easton, Effingham and Troy in Kansas and Rushville in Missouri.
Bank officials say the philosophy of The Exchange Bank and Trust is that local involvement and decision-making is how a good bank should operate, and that The Exchange Bank is committed to making communities better places in which to live and work. That commitment, according to the news release, comes in the form of economic development, volunteer time and financial support of non-profits in the communities in which the bank operates.
