Visitors at The Landmark this week included Secretary of State James C. Kirkpatrick of Jefferson City on Tuesday morning, who was en route to St. Joseph for a luncheon speaking engagement. On Tuesday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Trudersheim of San Diego, who have been visiting relatives and friends in Missouri, stopped for a short visit. An unknown guest appeared Wednesday during the lunch hour, while all the staff was out, who removed all the green bills and a roll of half dollars from the cash drawer.
The Platte City branch of Mid-Continent Library moved this week to permanent quarters on Main Street in the former Bartlett Merc. building. The new librarians are Mrs. Molly Martin and Mrs. Virginia Nave.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Leon Farr of Camden Point announce the birth of a son, Shain Leon on May 9, 1975 at the Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huffman of Camden Point are the maternal grandparents, and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Farr of Tracy are the paternal grandparents.
The Children of God Singers, a group of nine teenagers, from Weston plus their two sponsors, R.G. and Karen Yallaly, will perform in the Musical Encounter, on May 28th at 7p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Platte City. The group also plans to go on tour June 7th to Denver, Colo., and sing in various churches.
