Repeating wedding vows Saturday, March 22, 1975, at the First Christian Church in Platte City were Miss Janet Payne and Mr. Larry Leachman, both of Platte City. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Payne of Carrollton, Missouri, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leachman of Platte City. The Reverend Lester M. Weeks officiated the double-ring ceremony.


New officers elected at the meeting of the Platte County Historical Society, April 20, at the Platte Purchase Barn are: Walter Dowd, Platte City, President; R. L. Burns and Mrs. Henry Fox, first and second vice-presidents, Parkville; F. M. Wilson, Platte City, third vice-president; Mrs. Mary B. Aker and Ira Hassenpflug, Parkville, secretary and treasurer re-elected for the fifteenth consecutive year.


Trustees elected for a three-year term are Rowland Lamoy and Mrs. Pete Cooper, Parkville; Mrs. Eugene Feldhausen and Terry Riley, Platte City. Harold McAdow, Weston, will serve two years to replace Mr. Burns who became vice-president.


Mr. and Mrs. Rick Cline announce the birth of a son, Chad Erick, at the Spelman Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 18, 1975. He weighed 4lbs. 10 ½ oz. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Billy G. Anderson of Rushville, and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cline of Kansas City.
