The Gashland United Presbyterian Church was the setting Friday evening April 11, 1975 for the wedding of Kristy Lorene Wagner and Kenneth Dale Atchison. Mrs. Lavona M. Wagner is the bride’s mother and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dale Atchison are the parents of the groom. The Rev. Paul D. Votaw officiated at the double ring ceremony.


Western Contractors will hold an open house Sunday, April 20 from 2-5 at the A.B. Copeland home. The Copelands have remodeled the former Myrtle Copeland Fulk home. From Beverly, Mo. go south on Hwy. 45, turn right on first blacktop road, cross railroad tracks, turn left on first gravel road and continue to yellow house. Everyone is invited to attend.


Names of winners of an essay writing contest sponsored by the Platte Clay Electric Cooperative, Platte City, were announced recently by Howard Alexander, manager of the co-op. High school juniors who will be making the Youth Tour to Washington in June are Patsy Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern A. Jackson, of Lawson; and Donnie Wiedmaier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Wiedmaier of Cameron.

Mrs. Elva Cockriel, outreach specialist, can help older persons with just about anything of need or interest to them including information about community resources such as transportation, nutrition, legal aid, income tax, social security, recreation and volunteer opportunities.
