Another loss for Zona Rosa patrons.

A sign on the door states the Bar Louie location, a staple in the Zona Rosa shopping district for several years on the corner at 8600 NW Prairie View Rd., is closed for good.

“We regret to share that this location is now closed for business. Our hearts are with this community and the world while we all combat COVID-19 together. We hope everybody stays safe and healthy as we work through these difficult times together. We look forward to seeing you at our other locations very soon.”

Bar Louie is a bar and restaurant chain that was founded in 1990 to serve food, beer, and cocktails from locations predominantly located in urban and suburban markets. As of January 2020 there were approximately 96 locations, many of which can be commonly found in higher-end lifestyle centers, entertainment venues, and hotels.

Natalie Bass, marketing manager for Zona Rosa, confirmed for The Landmark that Bar Louie will not be reopening. Bass said Zona Rosa still has not received any official word on the future of Abuelo’s, the Mexican restaurant pictured in last week’s Landmark.

A sign on the Abuelo’s door leaves doubt the restaurant will be reopening and its Google listing says “permanently closed.”
