Restoration run to aid domestic violence shelter

Stretch out those legs and lace up those sneakers for the second annual Restoration Run held this Saturday in Gladstone. During the 5K run or one-mile walk participants travel along a scenic farm route and the White Chapel Cemetery, just a stone’s throw away from Platte County.

Proceeds from the event go toward Synergy Services, a domestic violence shelter in Parkville, and the Atkins-Johnson Museum. Running participants are charged a $30 fee and walkers are charged a $25 fee. Kids 12 and under are free.

Medals and gift bags will be provided to all participants. Those runners who place first, second and third receive trophies.

The last day to register is Saturday, the day of the event, at 4109 NE Pleasant Valley Road in Gladstone. The race starts at 8 a.m.

Participants can pick up their race packet either Friday from 4-6 pm at the Running Well Store on Barry Road or race morning from 6:45 to 7:30.

Raffle tickets will be sold the morning of the race. Participants have the chance to win a Garmin watch or Royals package. There will also be silent auction for a Patrick Mahomes helmet.
