A business boom in downtown Parkville

According to the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, there was a birthday party at the home with around 30 people attending on Saturday evening and the party ended around 11:30 p.m. After the guests had left, the homeowner noticed a vehicle still parked in front of the home and began looking for Ramirez, who had attended the party with another person.

Ramirez’s clothes were found in a bedroom of the home, along with his identification. Ramirez was then discovered at the bottom of the pool using a pool cleaning instrument. The pool was murky and the bottom was not visible from the surface.

The South Platte Fire Department arrived at the home after a 911 call was placed at 12:26 a.m. on Sunday. Sheriff’s deputies responded also, but the victim could not be resuscitated by people at the home nor firefighters.

The man was wearing a bathing suit when pulled from the pool and the sheriff’s department says there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the drowning and it has been classified as accidental.

Ramirez’s body has been turned over to the Jackson County Medical Examiners office.
