Platte County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene and secured the bank before agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, Kansas City field office arrived. The FBI is now investigating the case.

According to Jeff Lanza, FBI special agent, the man walked into the bank and made an oral demand for money from one of the tellers at the bank. The man did not show a weapon to the teller.

The man then left the bank and there were no witnesses as to his direction or means of escape. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

No further information was available as of Tuesday afternoon.
