In the near future, the Platte County Sheriff’s Department will open an additional security station in the entrance of the Platte County Administrative Offices located at 415 Third Street in Platte City.

The entrance corridor was designed to accommodate the security station when the building opened in 1997, but staffing levels did not allow for it to be manned until now.

Citizens entering the building at this location will have access to all the county offices as well as the offices located in the Platte County Courthouse. The front entrance to the courthouse will remain open.

Citizens will be asked to proceed through an upright metal detector much like the units used at the Airport. All packages, briefcases and purses will be ran through an x-ray machine.

The deputies assigned to this station will monitor traffic coming into and out of the building, take walk-in reports and direct visitors to the proper location.

The security station will be manned from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
