Mike and Cheryl McGinness of Platte City recently traveled to Australia and New Zealand with friends and a copy of The Landmark was along for the fun. Their trip began in Sydney with several days touring the area and then a 15-day cruise on Holland America’s Westerdam. There were many interesting stops in Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand. The cruise ended in Auckland, New Zealand where this photo was taken. Cheryl said: “The trip has been on our bucket list for many years. We are thankful we had the opportunity to visit such a beautiful part of the world. The people we met were so friendly and welcoming. Among the highlights were a tour of Sydney Opera House, petting kangaroos, ferry rides to smaller islands, cruising through the Milford Sound (so many beautiful waterfalls), and seeing a Tasmanian Devil for the first time. We visited 11 different cities and had wonderful excursions in each. We saw so many beautiful sights. The biggest challenge was returning home to a 19-hour time difference and an 80-degree temperature swing!”
