The Pilot Club of Platte City celebrated their first anniversary of charter night last Sunday evening at a dinner meeting at the Marriott Hotel. Guests included members from the North Kansas City and Leavenworth chapters as well as friends and relatives of the Platte City members.
The students are planning a big Homecoming for North Platte High School on Friday night, Oct. 10. The Panthers will clash with the Lawson Cardinals in a football game at 7:30 p.m. The homecoming parade will be at 1:45 p.m. The members of the student council have planned special days each day of this week.
The “friends” of the Weston Museum invite everyone to join them Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8 p.m. to midnight at a street dance celebration on downtown Main Street.
Mrs. Ethel Murphy was pleased to have her daughter, Mrs. Barbara Wallis, of Kansas City, as a weekend guest who enjoyed relating her experiences on a recent week’s trip to Ireland.
Fire broke out Saturday night at Nashua in the Barry area, in an abandoned two story brick bank building, destroying it and some sheds. Volunteer firefighters hosed down several roofs of nearby houses. An antique house was damaged but saved.
