In recent weeks The Landmark has received several questions to the effect of: What’s that large structure going in to the west of I-29 north of the Tiffany Springs exit? Mystery solved. “At that location, the developers of KCI Intermodal (Trammell Crow Company & Clarion Partners) are finishing industrial spec building VI (LC6),” responded Matt Tapp, executive director of the Platte County Economic Development Council, to an inquiry from The Landmark. “Since it’s speculative, it’s being built prior to solidifying tenants.” After checking with the property’s broker, CBRE, Tapp confirmed there is nothing to report on tenants just yet. “With the COVID-19 impact, it has been challenging to negotiate leases, as you can imagine,” Tapp said. The construction sits on KCI/Kansas City Aviation Department property, south of the 112th Street exit and north of Tiffany Springs.Wording on a sign on the property indicates the facility will have 67 possible dock doors, parking spaces for 390 cars in the front and 91 trailer parking spaces in the rear. It advertises suites from 43,680 square feet up to 349,440 square feet.
