The property tax levy for the county of Platte will remain at six cents per $100 of assessed valuation for the 2019 tax year.
That decision was officially made on Monday during the county commission administrative session. Commissioners unanimously voted to keep the tax levy where it is.
Total assessed valuation within the county has risen in the past year, from $2,690,276,108 to $2,850,318,303.
The assessed value of new construction this year is $69,470,941.
Amount of revenue to be generated for the county with the six cent property tax levy is $1,710,191. The county largely is operated with revenues generated through sales taxes and use taxes.
The increase in revenue generated from reassessment is $54,342. The increase in revenue generated by new construction is $41,683.
Also on Monday, county commissioners set the property tax rate within Platte County Drainage District No. 1 at .0763 cents per $100 assessed valuation, the same rate as last year.
In addition, the commission set the property tax rate within the Platte County Road and Bridge district at 32.39 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. That is the same rate as last year.
