An Edgerton man is accused of trying to meet up with an underage boy following sexually explicit online correspondence.
The Platte County Prosecutor’s Office charged 59-year-old Douglas Auxier with attempted enticement of a child less than 15-years-old.
The arrest follows a covert operation conducted by a detective with the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force.
According to court documents, authorities spotted an ad seeking “younger fishing friends” in the “activity partners” section of a common social website, where people are often seeking sex.
The detective responded to the ad on Tuesday, Sept. 17 claiming to love fishing. As online communication progressed past the initial introduction, Auxier allegedly inquired about the age of the person he was conversing with. At which time, the detective told Auxier he was a 13-year-old boy. That didn’t appear to faze Auxier, authorities say.
When the detective asked him why he wanted to fish with a young boy, Auxier said there was more than one reason and “some things you are too young for unfortunately.” Auxier further explained he “wanted to be used by a young, legal guy while cross-dressed.”
The following day, Auxier told the undercover detective that he was going shopping and shared his personal fantasy of being treated “like a slut” by a couple of boys while he was dressed like a woman. From here, the conversation continued to progress sexually with Auxier revealing he had been in contact with a “16 and two 17-year-olds who had expressed interest in having sex with him while he was dressed like a woman,” states court documents.
Court documents state Auxier wrote he would engage in sexual acts with him so long as he wore protection. When the detective reminded Auxier that he was young and underage, he said “wish you were older, but seem nice.”
Later, Auxier allegedly told the undercover detective that he could “take advantage” of him.
Auxier allegedly attempted to meet the underage boy in person at a local library but was met by authorities and questioned by detectives.
Auxier is being held without bond inside the Platte County Detention Center. Circuit Court Judge Abe Shafer has denied Auxier’s request to modify the terms of his bond.
