Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen cut the ribbon with some help from county commissioners Joe Vanover, Dagmar Wood and Scott Fricker at a celebration of the sheriff’s new headquarters on Thursday, April 18. The new location, which is in the former Platte County Resource Center at 11724 NW Plaza Circle, Kansas City in Platte County, contains 39,800 square feet. It houses everything for the sheriff’s office except the communication (dispatch) center, which remains at the sheriff’s former location at the Platte County Administration Building in Platte City. The new headquarters space renovated using federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars that the county received as COVID relief.
